CLUB HISTORY
The Melbourne Anime Club began in January 2013 because there was a need for a comfortable space which allowed people to mingle with a focus on anime.

We are proud to be Melbourne's largest not-for-profit anime club and we invite you to join us for a Sunday afternoon watching anime followed by dinner in Melbourne CBD where we can better socialise and exchange anime banter.

This is NOT a dating club and we have strict policies in order to keep the comfort of all members.

ABOUT ME
What to expect
meet & sign in
Arrive on a scheduled meetup date between 2pm to 2:30pm.

Meet and greet with other members of the club before you sign in!
Anime Sharing
After announcements, we typically screen 3x episodes of 2 different series as a sampler.
We encourage our members to support the anime artists and producers if they wish to finish the series.
INTERMISSION
During intermission, we raffle off some prizes as a thank you for those of you who have chosen to support the club with a donation of $5 of more.
SOCIALISE
Stay back for dinner with us in Melbourne CBD as we catch up and discuss the anime we have sampled and socialise over dinner.
About Me
I started the Melbourne Anime Club in January 2013 because I was tired of being hit on in other hobbyist clubs from sporting clubs to even Toastmasters. It was my dream to create a club where members were respectful and aware of social boundaries.
In our club, we actively encourage each other to call out bad behaviour and to speak up when we feel uncomfortable.

I am proud to say that the dream is now a reality as our members work together to create a comfortable space where we look out for one another.
​
Our club is now 6 years and running with anywhere from 35 to 50+members per meeting. So far we've only had to enforce our Two-Strike policy once and as someone who is consistently fair and reasonable, I am confident that we will continue to build a respectful community.
